Good packaging selection is not only a visual decision. It is a practical sourcing decision shaped by formula, market, capacity, user experience and production requirements.
Start with the formula and user experience.
Before choosing a bottle, jar or tube, define how the formula behaves. Viscosity, air sensitivity, light sensitivity, dosage control and hygiene requirements all influence the packaging route.
- Serums and oils often need droppers, pumps or airless systems.
- Creams, balms and masks usually need jars, tubes or airless jars.
- Toners, mists and fragrance products require spray performance review.
Match the packaging format to the application.
Product categories create useful starting points. Skincare packaging, makeup packaging, fragrance packaging and haircare packaging each have different constraints for closure, application, shelf presentation and transport safety.
Review material, compatibility and production needs.
Glass, PET, PP, PE, PETG, aluminum and PCR materials each bring different benefits and constraints. The best option depends on formula compatibility, decoration method, target price, order quantity and market expectations.
Plan decoration and finish after the structure is clear.
Decoration can include silk screen printing, hot stamping, spraying, electroplating, labels, custom color matching and secondary boxes. For custom projects, decoration should be reviewed together with component shape, surface material and production quantity.
Prepare a complete RFQ before sourcing.
A clear RFQ helps the supplier recommend realistic stock options, custom options or development routes. Include product type, capacity, material preference, quantity, color, logo file, finish, destination country and launch timing.
